Bring your students to Butterfly World for a fun and engaging learning experience!
They'll get to explore tropical rainforests, see butterflies up close, and discover the life cycles of insects and other animals.
Whether you choose a guided tour or a self-led visit, it’s a great way to mix education with excitement.
Our school visits are all about hands-on learning. Kids will love watching butterflies in action, spotting caterpillars, and asking plenty of questions.
A guided visit with us would usually last around 1 hour per group. This will include watching an Educational video, Q&A session and guided tour through the butterfly house and animal area with one of our experienced members of staff for an engaging and enjoyable learning experience. After which, you are welcome to come and go throughout the rest of the day to explore further at your own pace.
A self-led visit gives you the flexibility to explore the butterfly house with your group* at your own pace, looking closely for eggs, caterpillars and butterflies and come and go throughout the day.
The price per child is £3.75 / £4.25 (see price table).
The cost of your visit will be invoiced, and payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date.
Maximum of 30 children plus 5 adults per group.
WE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE ONE GROUP AT A TIME. Group guide times must be agreed at the time of booking. We advise that you plan activities for additional groups in the park until the time slot for the next group.
Bookings are only secured when a completed booking form has been returned and your booking has been confirmed.
Please note, the earliest time slot available to book is 10:00 am.

During term time we can be extremely busy with school visits, often only having a short changeover in between groups. We therefore ask you to be prompt on arrival to ensure we can keep to the allocated time slots. If you are late for any reason, we may not be able to keep to your original allocated time slots. We will, however, be as flexible as possible and make every effort to accommodate you.
If you are spending the day in the park grounds, you are welcome to bring children back in small groups throughout the day.
We unfortunately DO NOT have a facility for lunch inside Butterfly World, there are picnic benches in the park grounds, and Preston Hall Museum does have some lunch huts which are available to book when you book a self-led tour of the museum. To be booked direct with the museum – 01642 527375
We unfortunately DO NOT have toilet facilities inside Butterfly World due to being a small venue, we therefore suggest children use the toilets in the park grounds (situated next to the park café) before your visit, however you are free to go out and come back in if needed.
If you wish to allow the children in your group to buy something from our gift shop, we advise around £3.00 spending money would be an adequate amount.
